How to Pick Holiday Ornaments for a Dorm Room
Start With the Smallest Tree You Have
Start with the smallest tree you have before you buy a set. A desk tree needs mini balls, while a larger tree can take 2.36 inch balls. Pick a set that fits the tree in your room.
Pick a Mini Size for a Desk Tree
Pick a mini size for a desk tree when you shop. A 1.2 inch ball suits a mini tree, while a 1 inch glass ball suits even smaller branches. Pick a size that leaves room on the branches.
Count How Many Balls Come in the Set
Count how many balls come in the set before you buy it. A set of 24 mini balls can dress a desk tree, while a set of 9 reflector balls suits a small tree. Pick a count that matches your tree.
Look for a Loop, String, or Rope
Look for a loop, string, or rope when you compare ornament sets. A loop hangs a ball in seconds, while a rope lets you place a ball where you want it. Choose the hanging style that suits your desk tree best.
Store the Set in a Small Spot
Store the set in a small spot after the holidays end. A set of mini ornaments fits a drawer or a small box, while loose balls need a bag of their own. Keep the set in one place until next year.
